Parse, 25, totaled 11 goals, 24 points, 22 penalty minutes and a plus-13 rating in 59 regular season games with the Kings this past season, and his 11 goals tied for 10th among NHL rookies. Additionally, his plus-13 rating tied for second among all rookies and ranked first among all rookie forwards in the NHL. The 5-11, 197-pound native of Portage, Michigan also skated in four playoff games with the Kings.

Parse, selected by the Kings in the sixth-round (174th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, made his Kings/NHL debut on Oct. 24, 2009, at Phoenix. He recorded his first NHL point (an assist) in that game. He also tallied his first NHL goal on Oct. 29 vs. Vancouver (in his fourth NHL game), notched his first career multi-point game on Dec. 5 vs. St. Louis, and collected his first career two-goal game on March 29 at Minnesota.

Prior to his recall to the Kings on Oct. 23, Parse had a team-high nine assists and 11 points in seven regular season games with the Manchester Monarchs, the Kings’ American Hockey league affiliate. At that time, Parse’s 11 points ranked second in the AHL and his nine assists were tied for first in the league. His AHL totals this past season included 15 points (4 goals, 11 assists) and 21 penalty minutes in 14 regular season games.

Parse appeared in 74 regular season games with the Monarchs during the 2008-09 season, recording 39 points (15 goals, 24 assists) and 38 penalty minutes. His 39 points ranked fifth on the club, while his 15 goals were tied for fourth.

Parse began his pro career late in the 2006-07 season with Grand Rapids of the AHL after completing his senior year at the University of Nebraska-Omaha (NCAA). He split time with Manchester and Reading of the ECHL during the 2007-08 season.
