Denver Pioneers (Manchester Regional Champion) vs. Western Michigan Broncos (Fargo Regional Champion) – 4 pm CT
Sophomore defenseman Cale Ashcroft (#3, DU) has produced 11 points across 43 games this season, much improved from his four points in 20 appearances last year. Ashcroft has additionally blocked 27 shots during 2024-2025, a mark that ties for fifth-best on the team.

A key defensive member of Tri-City's 2022-2023 squad, Ashcroft registered eight goals and 29 assists for 37 points in 62 regular season games during his lone year in Kearney. He was one of two Storm players (Charlie Kinsman) to appear in every regular season contest that year. Ashcroft also put up five assists in four 2023 Storm playoff games.

The St. Albert, Alberta native answered on a DU questionnaire he'd like to play professional hockey and eventually pursue a career in real estate. St. Albert, an Edmonton suburb, is also the hometown of current Tri-City forward Carmelo Crandell

Denver native Kieran Cebrian (#24, DU) is now competing for his hometown school after spending three seasons with Tri-City. In a Storm career that lasted between 2020-2023, Cebrian amassed 28 goals, 52 assists, and 80 points. During his final 2022-2023 campaign in Kearney, the forward notched 16 goals and 31 assists for 47 points, which tied for third best on the roster. Cebrian also contributed six points in 11 career playoff games with the Storm.

After appearing 18 times and recording nine points during his freshman season, Cebrian has enjoyed a 43-game campaign as a sophomore in 2024-2025 while putting up six goals and nine assists for 15 points. The 2003-born player has also compiled a 370-329 faceoff record this season. He paced the team in faceoff winning percentage last year and led all players with 14 faceoff wins in the 2024 national championship game against Boston College.

Cebrian was invited to the Winnipeg Jets' development camp last July.

Alex Bump (#20, WMU) leads the Broncos in scoring and has played an integral role in lifting Western Michigan to its first ever Frozen Four. Bump paces the Broncos in goals (23), points (47), and shots (236) during 2024-2025. His four game-winning goals tie for second on the team. The sophomore's 24 assists rank third.

Bump's name looms large over this Denver-Western Michigan rematch of last month's NCHC Frozen Faceoff Championship game. The left-shot forward scored the overtime game-winner on March 22 at Xcel Energy Center, handing the Broncos a 4-3 victory and the program's first-ever NCHC Tournament crown. Western Michigan additionally claimed its first-ever NCHC regular season championship (Penrose Cup) this year.

Bump compiled an eight-game point streak between January 3 and February 1, one of his many highlights of the season. During that stretch, the 2003-born player produced seven goals and nine assists for 16 points. The eight-game streak tied a career high.

Bump is a Philadelphia Flyers pick taken in the fifth round of 2022's draft. Acquired from the Omaha Lancers in a colossal deal at the February 2023 trade deadline, Bump was part of an agreement that involved two players, seven draft picks, and future considerations. The left-shot player appeared in 16 regular season games with Tri-City toward the latter part of 2022-2023, where he produced five goals, eight assists, and 13 points. Bump also put up four points in as many Storm playoff games during that lone year with time in Kearney.

Zach Bade (#9, WMU), another 2003-born Storm alum, is in his freshman season at Western Michigan after a two-year USHL stint.

Bade first appeared with Waterloo during 2022-2023 where he produced nine goals and nine assists for 18 points in 52 games. The Inner Grove Heights, Minnesota native was traded to the Storm in a September 2023 deal that included defenseman Jake Delaney. Bade put up seven goals and two assists for nine points alongside 41 penalty minutes in 39 Tri-City regular season contests during 2023-2024. He also appeared in five 2024 Storm playoff games, logging one assist.

The forward has skated twice this season for Western Michigan.

Penn State Nittany Lions (Allentown Regional Champion) vs. Boston University Terriers (Toledo Regional Champion) – 7:30 pm CT
An important contributor in Tri-City's 2021-2022 Anderson Cup run, Dane Dowiak (#19, PSU) enjoyed a two-year, 107-game regular season Storm career, where he logged 30 goals and 29 assists for 59 points. That 2021-2022 campaign was Dowiak's initial and best statistically in Kearney; he notched 16 goals and 14 assists for 30 points in 55 regular season games, while also contributing three points in five Tri-City playoff appearances that year.

The Wexford, Pennsylvania native advanced to Penn State after that second season (2022-2023) with the Storm. As a freshman in 2023-2024, Dowiak logged 11 points across 31 games.

Now a sophomore forward, Dowiak has contributed 12 goals and eight assists in 39 contests this season. He became one of eight Nittany Lions to hit the 20-point mark on the year after scoring a first period goal in Penn State's 3-2 overtime victory against UConn in the Allentown Regional Final on March 30.

Dane's older brother Mack is a 2016 graduate of Penn State. Dowiak's hometown of Wexford is a northern suburb of Pittsburgh.

Senior forward Ben Schoen (#12, PSU) turned heads with a lights-out performance in last month's Big Ten Tournament. The Maumee, Ohio native collected five points (three goals, two assists) across Penn State's trio of tournament games, helping the Nittany Lions to a Big Ten semifinal appearance. Penn State lost that semifinal matchup at Ohio State, but did receive one of the final at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament.

Schoen's Storm career was short, yet impactful. He was traded from Youngstown in a notable 2021 deadline deal that saw Tri-City give away forward Shane Lachance alongside 2021 Phase II first round, 2021 Phase II fourth round, and 2022 Phase II first round picks to the Phantoms. Schoen was a Youngstown tender and in his third season with the Phantoms at the time of the trade.

The right-shot forward contributed nine goals, six assists, and 15 points in his 24 regular season appearances with the Storm that year while also notching 38 penalty minutes. Across 101 games with Youngstown to begin his USHL career, Schoen amassed 20 goals and 43 assists for 63 points. He advanced to the Nittany Lions after ending that 2020-2021 campaign in Kearney.

The 2002-born player is playing in his third collegiate season after taking a medical redshirt last year. Schoen has contributed seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points through 36 appearances with Penn State this season. When you combine his NCAA statistics, Schoen has notched 16 goals and 40 assists for 56 points in 97 career collegiate games.

A middle child, Schoen is working on a communications degree.

Goaltender and UConn transfer Arsenii Sergeev (#35, PSU) has appeared in 32 games this season. He shined in each of Penn State's regional round matchups against both Maine and his former Huskies. Especially spectacular in the Allentown Regional Final against UConn, Sergeev halted 40 of 42 Husky shots (.955) he faced in the overtime thriller.

The Russia native's numbers have been incredibly strong during his third collegiate season and first in Happy Valley. Entering the Frozen Four, Sergeev has notched a 19-8-4 record in 2024-2025 alongside a 2.56 goals against average and .918 save percentage.

Sergeev joined the Nittany Lions after two years at UConn, where he combined for a 19-14-1 record in 36 contests. His statistics were also eye-opening last year. Sergeev logged a 2.70 goals against average and .913 save percentage in The Constitution State.

The Calgary Flames pick (7th round, 2021) spent the 2021-2022 season at Tri-City and was a critical member in the Storm Anderson Cup run that year. In 41 regular season games with Tri-City, Sergeev logged video game-like numbers, including six shutouts, a 30-6-2 record, 2.08 goals against average, and .918 save percentage. He was a four-time USHL Goaltender of the Week.

Sergeev also won the North American Hockey League's (NAHL) 2020-2021 Robertson Cup Championship with the Shreveport Mudbugs. The 2002-born player majors in sociology at Penn State.

Left-shot forward Nick Roukounakis (#7, BU) began regularly appearing in the Terriers' lineup around mid-November. The freshman has recorded five assists through his first 19 collegiate games.

Roukounakis' largest statistical night came in the February 3 Beanpot Semifinal against Harvard when he registered a pair of assists. A week later, the Terriers claimed the Beanpot title against rival Boston College. The 2003-born player has also put up 12 penalty minutes across his 19 appearances this year.

Roukounakis appeared in 54 regular season games during two seasons in Kearney, (2022-2023, 2023-2024) amassing seven goals and nine assists for 16 points. He also scored twice across Tri-City's six 2024 playoff matchups while racking up 18 penalty minutes. Roukounakis joined the Storm after spending 2021-2022 with BCHL West Kelowna. He appeared in three USHL games with the National Team Development Program during 2020-2021.

A Pembroke, Massachusetts native, Roukounakis's hometown is about 45 minutes south of Boston. He is working on a degree in business administration and management.
