KEARNEY, NE – The Tri-City Storm defeated the Sioux Falls Stampede by a final score of 4-1 Friday night at the Viaero Center.

Cameron Korpi made a career-high 43 saves in net to secure the win for the Storm. Tri-City returns to action Saturday night in a home game against the Dubuque Fighting Saints. The Storm and the Viaero Center will host a post-game autograph session with the team following the cross-conference battle. Puck drop for tomorrow's battle between the Storm and the Fighting Saints is set for 6:05pm CT.
Owen Beckner opened the scoring in Friday's game with his second goal of the year at 11:56 of the 1
st period. Beckner's goal gave the Storm a 1-0 lead, and was netted on the powerplay.
Vladislav Lukashevich and
Trevor Connelly each recorded an assist on the scoring play.
Nolan Roed scored his fourth goal of the year at 16:51 of the period to increase Tri-City's lead to two goals. The goal was netted even strength, and was assisted by
A.J. Lacroix. The Stampede outshot the Storm 12-9 during Friday's 1
st period, but trailed by two goals entering the middle period.
August Falloon scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season only sixty-three seconds into Friday's 2
nd period to put Tri-City ahead by three goals.

Trevor Connelly each notched an assist on the even-strength goal. The Storm's final goal of Friday's game was scored at 10:06 of the 2
nd period by
Ryan Smith. Smith's goal was netted on the powerplay, and was his fourth scoring play of the regular season.

Trevor Connelly recorded an assist on the play. The Storm was outshot 15-10 during Friday's 2
nd period, but the team carried a four-goal lead into the 3
rd period.
The lone goal of Friday's final period was scored by the Stampede's Chris Pelosi. Pelosi's goal was netted at 8:20 of the period, and was scored even-strength. J.J. Wiebusch recorded the lone assist on Pelosi's fourth scoring play of the season. Sioux Falls with just over five minutes remaining in Friday's contest, elected to lift goaltender Caleb Heil for an extra attacker. Roughly one quarter of Friday's 3
rd period was played six-on-five, but neither team was able to find a goal during the empty-net time. The Stampede outshot the Storm 17-5 during the 3
rd period, and 44-24 overall in the matchup. The Storm skated away with a 4-1 victory to improve to 7-2-0-0 on the 2023-2024 regular season.
Cameron Korpi improved to 7-0-0-0 on the season in goal for the Storm after turning away a career-high 43 shots on net. Korpi made 43 saves on 44 shots to collect the win in net for Tri-City. Caleb Heil dropped the game in goal for the Stampede in a 20-save-on-24-shot-performance.
The Storm's powerplay netted two goals, and finished the night 2/2. Tri-City's penalty kill went 3/3 during Friday's game. Attendance for Friday night's battle between the Storm and the Stampede was 1,072.
