KEARNEY, NE – The Tri-City Storm downed the Lincoln Stars by a final score of 6-1 Saturday night at the Viaero Center in the team's annual Concrete Cares Game presented by Kearney Concrete.

Owen Beckner scored goals in the Storm's victory.
Cameron Korpi backstopped Tri-City to victory by making 29 saves on 30 shots in net during the rivalry matchup. The Storm's next home game will be played on Sunday, December 31
st at 6:05pm CT against the Lincoln Stars.
Blake Montgomery netted his eighth goal of the season sixty-five seconds into Saturday's opening period to give the Stars a 1-0 advantage in the matchup. The goal was netted even strength, and was assisted by Jared Mangan and Ryan Spinale.
Artemi Nizameyev scored his seventh goal of the season at 7:40 of the 1
st period to bring the game to a 1-1 tie. Nizemeyev's goal was netted on the powerplay, and was assisted by
Vladislav Lukashevich and
Cam Briere. The final goal of Saturday's 1
st period was scored with one minute to play by
Seth Constance. Constance's goal was his second of the season, and was netted even strength.
Carmelo Crandell recorded an assist on the scoring play. The Storm was outshot by a narrow margin of 13-12 during the 1
st period, but carried a 2-1 lead into Saturday's 2
nd period.
Ryan Smith scored the lone goal of Saturday's 2
nd period with less than three minutes to play to give the Storm a two-goal lead in the rivalry matchup. Each team recorded 11 shots on goal during the middle period, and the 3
rd period began with Tri-City leading 3-1. The Storm entered Saturday's game with a 9-0-1-0 record when leading after the 2
nd period this season.
Blake Steenerson scored his first goal of the night, and second goal of the season, at 2:38 of Saturday's final period to increase the Storm's lead to three goals.
Luke Posthumus recorded an assist on the scoring play.
Owen Beckner notched his sixth goal of the year at 8:05 of the 3
rd period to bring the score to 5-1.

Blake Steenerson at 14:43 of the final period. The Storm outshot the Stars 13-6 in the 3
rd period, and 36-30 overall in the matchup. Tri-City improved to 13-9-1-1 in the victory.
Cameron Korpi improved to 12-4-0-1 on the season in goal for the Storm in the victory. Yan Shostak made 23 saves on 28 shots in a losing effort for the Stars. Lucas Massie recorded 7 saves on 8 shots in the final 11:55 of game time after replacing Shostak in goal.
The Storm hits the ice again on Thursday, December 28
