MIDDLETON, WI. – The Tri-City Storm downed the Madison Capitols by a final score of 4-1 Saturday night at the Bob Suter Capitol Arena.

Jake Rozzi, and
Zach Bade scored goals in Tri-City's win.
The game's opening goal was scored at exactly the 5:05 mark of the 1
st period by the Capitols for the second night in a row. Saturday night's game-opening goal for Madison was netted by James Hong, and was his thirteenth scoring play of the 2023-2024 regular season. Max Nagel recorded the lone assist on Hong's goal. The Storm answered back with less than two minutes to play in the 1
st period to bring the score to 1-1. Tri-City's goal was netted by
Cam Briere at 18:33 of the 1
st period, and was his twelfth goal of the year.
Brandt Harper recorded his third assist of the season on the scoring play. Tri-City outshot Madison 13-5 during Saturday's 1
st period, and the 2
nd period began with the score tied at 1-1. The Storm was previously 3-4-2-1 when tied after the opening period in ten previous games this season.
Vladislav Lukashevich netted his sixth goal of the season forty-eight seconds into Saturday's middle period to give the Storm a two-goal advantage in the battle.
Carmelo Crandell notched his tenth assist of the season on the scoring play.
Jake Rozzi scored his eighth goal of the year at 8:37 of the 2
nd period to give the Storm a three-goal lead in the contest.
Trevor Connelly notched his team-leading twenty-eighth assist on the play, and
Ryan Smith collected his ninth assist of the year on the goal. The Storm outshot the Capitols 10-4 in the 2
nd period, and carried a 3-1 advantage into Saturday's 3
rd period. Tri-City was previously 12-0-1-0 on the 2023-2024 regular season when leading after the 2
nd period this season entering Saturday's cross-conference matchup.
The lone goal of Saturday's final period was netted by
Zach Bade at 2:22 of the period. Bade's goal was his third of the season, and was assisted by
Carmelo Crandell and
Blake Steenerson. Crandell's assist was his eleventh of the season, and Steenerson's assist was his fourth of the year. The Storm outshot the Capitols 10-7 in the 3
rd period, 33-16 overall, and won the contest by a final score of 4-1 to improve to 17-12-2-4 on the season.
Cameron Korpi collected the win in net for Tri-City in a 15-save-on-16-shot effort. Carsen Musser dropped the game in goal for the Capitols after turning away 29 of the Storm's 33 shots on goal.
The Storm hits the ice again on Tuesday, January 30
