SIOUX FALLS, SD. – The Tri-City Storm's season-long seven-game road trip ended in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Sioux Falls Stampede Tuesday night at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. Trevor Connelly (2), A.J. Lacroix, and Vladislav Lukashevich scored goals for the Storm in the overtime loss. Tri-City returns home to the Viaero Center for three consecutive games this weekend. Friday's game will begin at 7:05pm CT, and will be played against the Des Moines Buccaneers. The Storm will host the Buccaneers again at 6:05pm CT on Saturday before ending the weekend with a rivalry game against the Omaha Lancers on Sunday at 3:05pm CT. Beckett Hendrickson scored his first goal of the night, and fifteenth goal of the season, at 4:04 of Tuesday's 1^st period to give the Stampede a 1-0 lead in the battle. Chris Pelosi recorded an assist on the scoring play for Sioux Falls. The Storm responded with a goal by A.J. Lacroix at 14:24 of the opening period to tie the game. Lacroix's goal was his sixth of the season, and was assisted by Seth Constance. The Storm was outshot by an 8-6 margin during the 1^st period, and Tuesday's 2^nd period began in a 1-1 tie.
 
Trevor Connelly netted his first goal of the contest, and fourteenth goal of the year at 2:14 of the 2^nd period to give Tri-City its first lead of the matchup. Connelly's goal was assisted by Dallas Vieau and Owen Beckner. Vladislav Lukashevich netted a powerplay goal at 17:49 of the middle period to increase the Storm's lead to two goals. The goal was his seventh of the season, and was assisted by Owen Beckner and Cam Briere. The final goal of Tuesday's 2^nd period was scored fifteen seconds later by Jordan Geikie. The goal was netted shorthanded, and was Geike's first of the season. Hayden Reid collected an assist on the Stampede's scoring play. Each team notched 10 shots on net during the middle period, and Tri-City carried a 3-2 lead into Tuesday's 3^rd period.
 
The opening goal of the 3^rd period was netted by Alexander Rybakov to bring the game to a 3-3 tie. The goal was assisted by Beckett Hendrickson and Chris Pelosi. The Storm took the lead in the final minutes of regulation time with Trevor Connelly's second goal of the game, and team-leading fifteenth goal of the year. The goal was netted at 16:19 of the 3^rd period, and was assisted by Vladislav Lukashevich and Shaun McEwen. Artur Cholach netted his third goal of the season at 17:47 of Tuesday's 3^rd period to tie the contest at 4-4. Jaksen Panzer and J.J. Wiebusch each collected an assist on Cholach's game-tying goal. Tri-City outshot Sioux Falls by an 11-9 margin during the 3^rd period, and Tuesday's game required an overtime period to decide a winner.
 
The final goal of the battle was scored forty-seven seconds into the extra period by Beckett Hendrickson. The goal was Hendrickson's second of the night, and sixteenth of the year. Chris Pelosi collected the lone assist on the scoring play. The Stampede outshot the Storm 2-0 in the overtime, and 29-27 overall during the matchup. Tri-City dropped to 3-1-1-0 in head-to-head games played against Sioux Falls this season in the overtime loss. The seven-game series is set to conclude with back-to-back games at the Viaero Center on Friday, April 5^th, and Saturday, April 6^th, 2024. The Storm dropped to 17-12-3-4 on the 2023-2024 regular season, and remains the 5^th place team in the USHL's Western Conference entering its upcoming three-game homestand at the Viaero Center.
 
Cameron Korpi recorded the overtime loss in net for Tri-City after making 24 saves on 29 shots during the battle. Michael Chambre won the game in net for Sioux Falls in a 23-save-on-27-shot performance. The Storm finished the contest 1/4 on the powerplay, and 3/3 on the penalty kill.
