Trevor Connelly named USHL Forward of the Week

Storm forward collects weekly honor for first time in career

KEARNEY, NE.Tri-City Storm forward Trevor Connelly has been named the United States Hockey League's (USHL) Forward of the Week for Week 15 of the 2023-2024 season following his performance in the Storm's weekend sweep of the Under 17's of the United States National Team Development Program at the Viaero Center this weekend. This is the first weekly award of Connelly's career, and the first for a Storm forward during the 2023-2024 regular season.
 
Trevor Connelly, 17, of Tustin, California, netted the game-winning goal in the Storm's 4-1 win over Team USA at the Viaero Center on Friday night, and scored an additional goal in the team's 10-9 victory on Saturday night. He also notched two assists in each game for a six-point weekend. Connelly led the Storm with ten shots on net during the two-game series against Team USA, and is currently the Western Conference's shots on goal leader with 107 this season. He currently leads all Western Conference players with thirty-five total points this season. Connelly has netted eleven goals and recorded a team-leading twenty-four assists through the opening twenty-nine games of the season. He was a member of Team USA's Bronze Medal Winning Team at the 2023 World Junior A Championship, and has been named to the roster for this month's upcoming 2024 Chipotle All-American Game. He scored twenty-four goals and notched twenty-three assists for forty-seven total points in fifty-seven regular season games during his debut season for Tri-City last year. Connelly officially joined the organization by signing a tender agreement to play for the team on March 14th, 2022. He skated in the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup for USA Hockey, and also participated in the prestigious USA Hockey BioSteel Boys 17 National Festival June 22nd-June 28th, 2023, in Amherst, New York. Connelly previously announced a commitment to play collegiate hockey in the future at Providence College.
