KEARNEY, NE – Tri-City Storm forward Artemi Nizameyev has announced his commitment to Miami University.
Miami, a Division I institution located in Oxford, Ohio, competes in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.
Currently in his third year at Tri-City, Nizameyev has produced a team-high five goals in eleven games this season. The 2005-born player has also recorded nine points, which ties for best on the roster.
Last season, in 50 regular season contests, Nizameyev generated a team second-best 49 points. In 113 career games with the Storm, the Chelyabinsk, Russia native has put up 25 goals and 47 assists, totaling 72 points.
Nizameyev becomes the 21st current member of the Storm to make a Division I commitment, and third to Miami. The forward will join current teammates Shaun McEwen and Ilia Morozov in Oxford.
Nizameyev will also reunite with former Storm President of Hockey Operations and Head Coach Anthony Noreen, who is now serving in his first year as Head Coach of the RedHawks.
Eleven other Tri-City players are committed to current NCHC schools, including Carson Pilgrim (North Dakota), Carmelo Crandell (Arizona State), Ashton Dahms (Minnesota Duluth), Dylan Nolan (Colorado College), Easton Pace (Colorado College), Cam Briere (Omaha), Lincoln Hjelm (Omaha), Nolan Roed (St. Cloud State), Colby Woogk (Western Michigan), McEwen and Morozov.
Miami has appeared in one national championship game, two Frozen Fours, and 12 NCAA Tournaments. Founded in 1809, the school enrolls approximately 16,500 undergraduates, offering over 200 areas of study.
