GENEVA, IL. – The Tri-City Storm dropped a road decision to the Chicago Steel Saturday night at the Fox Valley Ice Arena by a final score of 5-3. The Storm's four-game winning streak, and five-game point streak ended in the two-goal loss. Trevor Connelly (19, 20), and Vladislav Lukashevich (10) scored goals for Tri-City in the loss. The Storm returns to action next weekend with back-to-back road games against the Sioux City Musketeers and Omaha Lancers. Puck drop for Friday's road game at the Tyson Events Center is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.
 
Michael Emerson gave Chicago a 1-0 lead at 6:54 of Saturday's 1^st period. Emerson's goal was his fifth of the season, and was assisted by Charlie Major. Chris Able gave the Steel a two-goal advantage in the matchup with his fourth scoring play of the season at 11:11 of the 1^st period. The goal was assisted by Mick Thompson and Michael Hagens. Vladislav Lukashevich netted the first of Tri-City's two 1^st period powerplay goals at 16:45 of the opening period to cut Chicago's lead in half. Ryan Smith and Cameron Korpi each collected an assist on the scoring play. Trevor Connelly scored his first goal of the night, and nineteenth goal of the season with less than a minute to play in the 1^st period to bring the game to a 2-2 score. Connelly's goal was scored on the powerplay, and was assisted by Seth Constance and Owen Beckner. The Storm outshot the Steel by a 13-2 margin during Saturday's 1^st period, and the 2^nd period began in a 2-2 tie.
 
Michael Hagens scored his fourth goal of the year at 4:44 of the 2^nd period to give Chicago a 3-2 lead in the battle. Mick Thompson and Michael Emerson each notched an assist on the scoring play. Trevor Connelly scored his second goal of the game, and team-leading twentieth goal of the season with less than four minutes to play in the 2^nd period to bring the game to a 3-3 tie. Charlie Kinsman, and Owen Beckner each collected an assist on Connelly's second goal of the night. The final goal of Saturday's middle period was netted with sixty-two seconds left to play by the Steel's Ben Yurchuk. The goal was his seventh of the year, and was assisted by Ben Wilmott and Owen Tylec. Tri-City outshot Chicago by a 13-11 margin during the 2^nd period, but trailed by a 4-3 score entering Saturday's final period.
 
The lone goal of the 3^rd period was scored with under three minutes to play by Tobias Ohman. Joey DelGreco recorded the only assist of the scoring play. The Storm outshot the Steel by a 16-2 margin in the 3^rd period, but fell by a final score of 5-3 Saturday night at the Fox Valley Ice Arena. Tri-City dropped to 21-14-4-4 on the 2023-2024 regular season with the loss.
 
Cameron Korpi stopped 10 of Chicago's 15 shots during the matchup, and recorded the loss in net for Tri-City. Louka Cloutier made 39 saves on 42 shots to pick up the win in goal for the Steel.
