RALSTON, NE– The Tri-City Storm posted a 6-2 road victory over the Omaha Lancers Friday night at Liberty First Credit Union Arena, and enters tomorrow's road game against the Lincoln Stars one point away from clinching a spot in the 2024 Clark Cup Playoffs.

Ryan Smith each scored for Tri-City in the road victory.
Cameron Korpi collected his twenty-fifth win of the season in goal for the Storm. Tomorrow night's road game for the Storm against the Lincoln Stars at the Ice Box is scheduled to begin at 6:05pm CT.
Owen Beckner gave the Storm a one-goal lead in Friday's rivalry matchup with his thirteenth goal of the season at 7:54 of the opening period.
Trevor Connelly collected an assist on the scoring play. The Storm outshot the Lancers by a 13-7 margin during Friday's 1
st period, and Tri-City carried a 1-0 lead into the middle period.
Trevor Connelly scored his team-leading twenty-seventh goal of the season ninety-three seconds into Friday's middle period to give the Storm a two-goal lead in the rivalry matchup. Phillippe Blais-Savoie notched an assist on the scoring play.
Jake Rozzi netted his first goal of the matchup, and twelfth goal of the season, at 2:05 of the 2
nd period to give Tri-City a 3-0 lead in the battle.
Cam Briere and
Owen Beckner each collected an assist on the scoring play. Rozzi's goal was netted on the powerplay. Omaha's Nick Pierre responded with a powerplay goal at 5:23 of the middle period to bring the score to 3-1. Ryan Kusler and Nicholas Sykora each recorded an assist on Pierre's twenty-first goal of the year. The Storm responded with three consecutive goals to take a commanding five-goal lead in the matchup.
Cooper Simpson scored his fourth goal of the season at 9:17 of the period to put Tri-City ahead 4-1.
A.J. Lacroix and
Blake Steenerson each recorded an assist on the scoring play.
Jake Rozzi scored his second goal of the night, and thirteenth goal of the season, at 11:16 of the period to give Tri-City a 5-1 lead in the game.
Trevor Connelly collected an assist on the scoring play. The final goal of Friday's 2
nd period was scored by
Ryan Smith with less than two minutes to play. Smith's goal was his twenty-third of the season, and was assisted by
August Falloon and
Nick Roukounakis. Omaha outshot Tri-City by a 9-8 margin during the 2
nd period, but trailed by a score of 6-1 entering Friday's final period.
The only goal of Friday's 3
rd period was netted by Omaha's Sam Scheetz with less than four minutes to play. The goal was his sixth of the season, and was assisted by Nicholas Sykora. Omaha outshot Tri-City 11-6 in the 3
rd period, and 27-26 overall in the contest. Tri-City improved to 6-0-0-0 in head-to-head matchups against Omaha this season in the four-goal road victory.
Cameron Korpi made 25 saves on 27 shots to record the win in goal for Tri-City. Kam Hendrickson, and Mikhail Yegorov split time in net for Omaha. Hendrickson made 13 saves on 17 shots, and picked up the loss in goal for the Lancers. Yegorov made 7 saves on 9 shots during the matchup.
