As we advance through the 2024-2025 season, several Tri-City alums are continuing to do tremendous things across the collegiate and professional ranks. It's time to celebrate some in this Storm Alumni Spotlight.
Alex Limoges, Hershey Bears (Storm years: 2015-2017)
A notable member of Tri-City's 2016 Clark Cup Championship squad, Limoges recently competed in the American Hockey League's (AHL) All-Star Challenge. He was the only former Storm player to appear at the event. Limoges's Atlantic Division team finished as runners-up in the three-on-three tournament after falling to the Central Division in a championship game shootout.
Now in his fourth full campaign of AHL action, Limoges has produced an impressive 12 goals, 19 assists, and 31 points through 36 games this year at Hershey, a Washington Capitals affiliate. Limoges won a Calder Cup title with the Bears last season. He contributed 13 points across Hershey's 20-game playoff run en route to the organization's second consecutive AHL title. Limoges has also spent time with the AHL's Manitoba Moose (Winnipeg Jets affiliate) and San Diego Gulls (Anaheim Ducks affiliate) during his professional career.
The Winchester, Virginia native joined the pro ranks immediately after a successful four-year career at Penn State. Limoges amassed 125 points in 128 career games with the Nittany Lions alongside a +26 rating. The left-shot forward also served as team captain during his senior season in 2020-2021. Limoges was a B1G Ten Honorable Mention his final two years at State College.
The 1997-born player joined Tri-City prior to the 2015-2016 campaign, where he registered 14 goals, 25 assists, and 39 points across 43 regular season matchups. Limoges also generated five goals and nine assists for 14 points during that year's eleven-game Storm run to the Clark Cup title. Those 14 postseason points placed third-best on the roster behind Dan Labosky and Wade Allison.
Limoges served as assistant captain in his second season with time at Tri-City during 2016-2017. After skating in 36 games with the Storm, where he notched 31 points, Limoges was dealt to Waterloo in early February. He finished the year with an impressive 25 points across the Black Hawks' final 19 regular season matchups. Limoges then scored a goal and added five assists in eight playoff appearances with the team.
Nick Roukounakis, Boston University Terriers (Storm years: 2022-2024)
The left-shot forward helped Boston University to its 32nd Beanpot title on Monday. The Terriers defeated Boston College 4-1 in the championship game, where Roukounakis recorded an assist. The Beanpot is an annual four-team men's and women's tournament featuring Boston's four Division I collegiate programs: Boston University, Boston College, Northeastern, and Harvard.
A Pembroke, Massachusetts native, Roukounakis's hometown is about 45 minutes south of Boston. The freshman began playing regularly for a talented BU squad in mid-November and has appeared in ten games this season, recording four assists. The Terriers placed ninth nationally in the February 10 USCHO.com Division I Men's Poll. BU is 15-10-1 during 2024-2025 and ranks third among eleven teams in the Hockey East Association standings.
Roukounakis appeared in 54 career USHL games during his three seasons in Kearney, amassing seven goals and nine assists for 16 points. He also scored twice across Tri-City's six playoff matchups last season while racking up 18 penalty minutes. The 2003-born player joined the Storm after spending 2021-2022 with West Kelowna in the BCHL.
Gavin Brindley, Cleveland Monsters (Storm years: 2020-2022)
The pride of Estero, Florida was a second round (#34 overall) Columbus draft pick in 2023 after his first two seasons at the University of Michigan. Brindley competed in 81 games with the Wolverines across 2022-2024, producing a career 37 goals and 54 assists for 91 points. He averaged 1.12 points per game in Ann Arbor. Michigan made last season's Frozen Four, but fell in its semifinal matchup to Boston College.
Brindley joined Michigan after two years in Kearney, where he appeared in 102 games between the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 campaigns. After putting up 22 points that first season, Brindley came back with a strong sophomore campaign at Tri-City, where he notched 14 goals, 28 assists, and 42 points through 51 regular season contests. Brindley also contributed a trio of points in the Storm's three playoff games that year. The right-shot player was tendered by the organization prior to his first season at Tri-City. He became the fifth tender signee in Storm history.
After last year's Frozen Four, Brindley made his NHL debut in the Blue Jackets' final regular season game on April 16. He logged 12:20 of ice time.
This season, Columbus has elected to keep Brindley with Cleveland, their AHL affiliate. In 28 games, the 20-year-old has contributed five goals and nine assists for 14 points. He's also logged eight penalty minutes. Cleveland's record was 24-14-8 at the time of publication, good enough for third place in the AHL's North Division.
Cameron Korpi, Michigan Wolverines (Storm years: 2022-2024)
Another Storm alum with significant ties to Ann Arbor, Korpi has experienced ample playing time his freshman season. In 17 appearances with the Wolverines this year, the 2004-born goaltender is 7-6-1 with a 3.12 goals against average and .903 save percentage. Michigan ranked twelfth nationally in the February 10 USCHO.com Division I Men's Poll. The Wolverines' record currently sits at 16-12-2. At the time of publication, Michigan held fourth place in the seven-team Big Ten Conference standings.
A native of South Lyon, Michigan, Korpi is playing his college hockey about 30 minutes from Ann Arbor.
Korpi's junior career had several twists and turns. He saw action with five different teams across four seasons. After stints with Bismarck (NAHL), the U17 NTDP (USHL), Muskegon (USHL), and Oklahoma (NAHL), Korpi joined Tri-City on a full-time basis in January 2023. He impressed in 21 appearances with the Storm during that 2022-2023 campaign, putting up a 13-4-3 record, 2.52 goals against average, and .911 save percentage. Korpi also went 2-1-1 in four Tri-City playoff games.
In his lone full season with the Storm last year, Korpi appeared in a commendable 47 regular season contests which ranked second-most among USHL goaltenders. He went 26-13-1 logging two shutouts in Tri-City's net, alongside a 2.98 goals against average and .892 save percentage. Those 26 wins placed third in the league. For the second straight year, Korpi registered a 2-1-1 record across four playoff appearances.
Trevor Moore, Los Angeles Kings (Storm years: 2011-2013)
The 1995-born player produced two strong seasons at Tri-City. In 111 career games with the Storm, Moore put up 32 goals and 63 assists for 95 points. An impressive 63 of those points came across his 62 appearances in 2012-2013.
Moore shifted westward for his collegiate career, putting up three solid seasons at Denver. Statistically, the California native's best campaigns took place in 2014-2015 and 2015-2016, two seasons where Moore notched exactly 44 points. He earned 2015 National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) First All-Star Team Honors and was named to the NCAA West Second All-American Team that same year.
Moore signed as a free agent with the Toronto Maple Leafs in July 2016. The left-shot forward spent the next two full seasons (2016-2017, 2017-2018) with the Marlies, Toronto's AHL affiliate, netting 33 points in each. Moore won a Calder Cup title with the Marlies in 2018.
After starting 2018-2019 with the Marlies, Moore debuted with the Maple Leafs in December 2018, appearing in 25 NHL games that season. He was traded to Los Angeles the following year and has remained with the Kings ever since. Moore has registered 8 goals and 15 assists for 23 points during 2024-2025. His best campaign with Los Angeles was last year, when he registered career-highs in goals (31) and points (57).
Across 389 lifetime NHL regular season appearances, Moore has put up 84 goals and 114 assists for 198 points. He's also produced nine points in a career 18 Stanley Cup Playoff games. Moore is under contract with the Kings through 2027-2028.
