Storm goaltender and Red Wings draft pick Michal Pradel commits to Colorado College

KEARNEY, Neb. – Tri-City Storm goaltender Michal Pradel has committed to Colorado College. 

A Division I program located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the school competes in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC). 

A third round selection (#75 overall) by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2025 NHL Draft, Pradel becomes the 14th member of Tri-City's roster to announce a Division I commitment and first to Colorado College.

"I am honored to announce my commitment to play at Colorado College for the fall of 2026," Pradel wrote in an Instagram post. "I am grateful to my parents, coaches, teammates, and mentors that have helped me on my journey."

Currently in his second year with time in Kearney, Pradel has emerged as one of the USHL's top netminders this season. The Dolny Kubin, Slovakia native ties for first among goaltenders in shutouts (3), while placing third in saves (648), fourth in minutes (1395), and fourth in shooting percentage (.918). Pradel's 2.50 goals against average ranks seventh in the league. 

The 2007-born player also collected international playing experience this season while representing Team Slovakia at the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championships, where he made four starts. 

Since beginning Division I play in 1938, Colorado College has won two national championships and qualified for ten Frozen Fours. Established in 1874, the school enrolls approximately 2,000 undergraduate students and offers 42 majors.
