Kearney, NE — June 16, 2026 — The Tri-City Storm has announced a partnership with Zawyer Sports & Entertainment to oversee the business operations of the Storm. The partnership will focus on ticket sales strategies, marketing, community engagement initiatives, venue operations and special events at the Viaero Center, while all hockey operations, including player personnel, recruiting, scouting, coaching, and development will continue to be directed by the Storm's existing hockey leadership. This partnership represents an important step in strengthening the organization's business platform while continuing to build up on the Storm's legacy as one of the premier junior hockey franchises in the country.
The Tri-City Storm, based in Kearney, Nebraska, have long been a cornerstone of the United States Hockey League (USHL), widely regarded as the top junior hockey league in the United States and a primary pathway to NCAA Division I and professional hockey. Zawyer Sports brings a proven track record in sports management, business operations, and fan experience to the franchise.
