KEARNEY, NE. – The Tri-City Storm will host its annual Futures Camp June 9th - 11th, 2023, in Las Vegas Nevada. The three-day development and exposure camp will be held at the Las Vegas Ice Center located at 9295 West Flamingo Road #130 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The camp is open to any interested player who is born in 2008 and 2009 only. Camp sign-up and registration information is available on the team website (
www.stormhockey.com) and is active now. Spots will fill quickly, and are on a "first come, first served" basis. Once positions at the camp are filled, potential registrants will be locked out from signing up for those positions.
The camp will begin Friday, June 9
th with player check-in and arrival at the Las Vegas Ice Center at 12:00 PM PT followed by a group seminar that afternoon, and then the first on-ice session with a team practice for the attendees. Saturday, June 10
th will feature camp participants on-ice for a position-specific practice session, and a group seminar. An informative Question and Answer Session for the parents attending. Parents will have the opportunity to ask the Tri-City Storm Hockey Operations Staff various questions and gain valuable insight into the Storm program and junior hockey level and beyond. Finally, a competitive game will be held between attendees. Sunday, June 11
th will feature another game between attendees and optional player meetings. The camp will conclude by 12:15 PM PT on Sunday, June 11
th.
The Tri-City's Storm's Las Vegas Futures camp is a great opportunity for 2008 and 2009-born players interested in playing for the Storm and in the USHL in the near future, but who are not yet ready or eligible to play in the league. The camp provides an experience of an extremely competitive USHL camp, a chance to become familiar with one of the top developmental programs in the country, meet the Storm staff, and show their potential for following season(s).
By early June, a complete and official schedule will be sent out to players who have registered for the event. For travel and planning purposes in and out of Las Vegas, expect the event to begin on Friday, June 9
th at 12:00 PM PT at the Las Vegas Ice Center and for the event to conclude by 12:15 PM PT on Sunday, June 11
th. The Las Vegas Ice Center is about twenty minutes away from Harry Reid International Airport (formerly McCarran International Airport) for flights.
The Storm host hotel for the 2023 Futures Camp will be the Horseshoe Las Vegas (formerly Bally's) located at 3645 Las Vegas Boulevard South / Las Vegas, NV 89109.
A pro shop is on-site at the camp facility for skate sharpening and equipment needs. The Storm's Athletic Trainer will be in attendance for basic medical needs during the camp.
Players are responsible for their own travel arrangements and meals while attending the Tri-City Storm Futures Camp.
