Hoehne was promoted to an assistant coach role with the Storm on January 6, 2025. He spent the previous months of the 2024-2025 campaign as Tri-City's goaltending coach.
Hoehne worked as goaltending coach for the Chippewa Steel (NAHL) between 2022-2025. Prior to his time with Chippewa, the Duluth, Minnesota native was an assistant coach for Chanhassen High School in Chanhassen, Minnesota between 2016-2021.
As a player, Hoehne became Duluth East High School's starting goaltender during his sophomore season. His 60 wins over the next two years set a school record. Hoehne made the Minnesota All-State Tournament team in 2000, and was the 2000 Northland Goaltender of the Year.
Hoehne made his USHL debut with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders during the 2000-2001 campaign. He finished his junior career with the Borderland Thunder (Superior International Junior Hockey League, Fort Frances, Ontario). Hoehne was named 2003 SIJHL Goaltender of the Year, and collected MVP honors during the league’s All-Star Game in both 2003 and 2004. Hoehne won an SIJHL Championship with Borderland during the 2002-2003 season.
In the offseason, Hoehne resides in Webster, Wisconsin, with his girlfriend Tara.
