Matt Barry begins his coaching career during the 2024-2025 campaign with Tri-City after skating in 47 professional games last season for the Glasgow Clan (EIHL, Glasgow, Scotland). Barry scored ten goals and notched 21 assists, totaling 31 points last year.
Barry spent the 2022-2023 season with the Rostock Piranhas (Oberliga, Rostock, Germany), where put up 23 goals, 48 assists, and 71 total points in 42 contests. Those 48 assists topped all Piranha players during the campaign.
The Naperville, Illinois native debuted professionally with Orlando (ECHL) on March 24, 2022.
A product of Miami University, Barry competed in his final three collegiate seasons with the RedHawks after beginning his college career at Holy Cross. Across 91 career collegiate games, Barry put up 17 goals and 45 assists, totaling 62 points.
Before college, Barry skated in 57 regular season contests across the 2017-2018 campaign with the Youngstown Phantoms, notching 17 goals and 54 points. Those 54 points led all Phantom players that year. Barry made his USHL debut on October 7, 2017, in Youngstown's 4-2 home loss to Central Illinois (defunct). During the Phantom's 2018 postseason run to the Clark Cup Finals, Barry tallied four goals and ten assists in 11 playoff contests.
