Shawn Sramek, of Clarkston, Michigan, was hired by the organization on September 20th, 2020, after serving as an Assistant Coach in the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies organization for five seasons prior to joining the Corpus Christi IceRays during the 2019-2020 season. He also served as a Video Coach for the Grizzlies' 18U AAA team during the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 seasons. Sramek also served as the Head Scout & Recruiter for the Lone Star Brahmas (NAHL) for two seasons prior to joining the Corpus Christi IceRays.
While behind the bench for the Storm, Sramek has helped lead the team to two regular season conference titles (2021 & 2022), and the 2022 Anderson Cup Championship. Under his leadership, Tri-City set a new franchise record for most goals scored (260), most powerplay goals scored (83), and best powerplay percentage (27.7%) during the 2021-2022 season. The Storm’s 83 powerplay goals were the most scored by any team in the league since the 2006-2007 season. Sramek has coached nine forwards during his time with Tri-City who have been selected in the NHL Draft.
