Tri-City’s Roed, Nizameyev make NHL Central Scouting midterm rankings

KEARNEY, Neb. – Tri-City Storm forwards Nolan Roed and Artemi Nizameyev have qualified for NHL Central Scouting's (NHLCS) midterm rankings. 

The rankings, released Tuesday, name the top draft-eligible prospects for this summer's 2025 NHL Entry Draft. NHLCS is a bureau of the National Hockey League. 

Both players have impressed with their performances this season. 

Roed, who places 148th among 2025 draft-eligible North American skaters in the NHLCS rankings, possesses the second-most goals (14), assists (19), and points (33) on Tri-City's roster. The White Bear Lake, Minnesota, native's 33 points also rank fifth among USHL players. Roed additionally ties for the league lead in shorthanded goals (3). 

The St. Cloud State commit's 2024-2025 campaign has been marked by numerous significant accomplishments, including a seven-game assist streak between November 29 and December 27. The streak ties a Tri-City franchise record. 

The left-shot player also compiled a natural hat trick with a trio of third period goals against Fargo during a 7 minute and 23 second span on Friday, November 22 at Viaero Center. Roed's hat trick erased a Storm three-goal deficit. Tri-City eventually won the game, 6-5, in overtime. 

Roed, who joined Tri-City for 25 games in his first USHL campaign last year around his season at White Bear Lake Area High School, has now appeared in 58 career games with the Storm. Roed has put up 20 goals and 28 assists, totaling 48 career points at Tri-City. 

Nizameyev, ranked 217th among draft-eligible North American skaters, currently leads all USHL players in goals (23), points (43), and game-winning goals (6). The Miami University commit's 1.30 points per game place first among league players who have skated in 25 or more games. Nizameyev has also put up an impressive 14 multi-point contests this year. 

Earlier this season, Nizameyev compiled a six-game goal streak, which ties for second-longest in Storm franchise history. During the streak, which occurred between November 29 and December 14, the Russia native put up nine goals and 16 points. 

Nizameyev is competing in his third season with Tri-City during 2024-2025. Across 135 career games in a Storm jersey, the right-shot player has compiled 43 goals and 63 assists, totaling 106 points. He is averaging a career 0.76 points per game. 

Current Storm player Kyle Jones placed 24th among North American goaltenders in the NHLCS midterm rankings based on his previous time with the North American Hockey League's Oklahoma Warriors. Jones, who is listed in the rankings under Oklahoma's team name, was acquired by Tri-City last week. In 21 appearances with the Warriors this season, the Bakersfield, California native put up a 3.53 goals against average, .895 save percentage, and 7-9-4 record. The UMass-Lowell commit also registered one shutout. 

The 2025 NHL Entry Draft is scheduled for Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28 at Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California.
