Beumer records 34-save shutout as Storm knock off Lancers 3-0 on Saturday night in Omaha

Saturday's box score

OMAHA, Neb. – Quinn Beumer delivered a 34-save shutout and three Tri-City players contributed goals as the Storm defeated the Omaha Lancers 3-0 on Saturday night at Liberty First Credit Union Arena.

Tri-City (8-3-0, 16 pts) has won six of its past seven games. Omaha (3-6-1, 7 pts) fell to 0-3-1 at Liberty First Credit Union Arena this season.

Beumer made several considerable stops throughout the night. His 34 save effort was one save shy of his career high (35 saves - October 16, 2026 vs. Omaha).

The Storm broke the ice at the 11:13 mark of the opening period. In the right circle of the Lancers' zone, Tri-City's Aleksandr Sokolov pickpocketed the puck off the stick of Omaha's Jimmy Dodig. Seconds after gathering possession, Sokolov quickly fired a snapshot past Lancer netminder Anthony Sciere for his team-leading ninth goal of the season.

Neither team struck in an evenly-played second period, where the teams exchanged 15 shots each.

The Storm put up a critical goal with just under eight minutes left in the third to double their advantage. As Tri-City pressured in the Omaha zone, Jackson Smith swept a feed to Matthew Krayer in the right circle. Krayer quickly chipped a snapshot above the left shoulder of Sciere for his fifth goal of the season.

Down two goals with about 90 seconds left in regulation, Omaha pulled Sciere for an extra attacker. Tri-City found the vacant cage with just over 1:20 left. Nathan Garski set up Dain Gordon with a shot from near center ice that hit the back of the net to make it 3-0 Tri-City.

Six different Storm players contributed a point in the effort.

Sciere halted 30 of 32 Storm shots in the Omaha crease.
