Storm Alumni Spotlight: October 2026

The 2026-27 hockey season is underway across North America, and former Tri-City Storm players continue to make their mark at many levels of the game. Let's check in on four former Storm players competing across the National Hockey League (NHL), American Hockey League (AHL), East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) and NCAA Division I.

Trevor Moore, Los Angeles Kings (Storm years: 2011-2013)

Trevor Moore continues to compete at hockey's highest level with the Los Angeles Kings. At the time of publication, Moore had recorded one goal and two assists for three points in 10 games to begin the 2026-27 NHL season.

Moore has established himself as a consistent NHL contributor since making his debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 2018-19 season. He joined the Kings in a trade the following year. Moore's best NHL season came in 2023-24, when he recorded 31 goals and 26 assists for 57 points in 82 games. He followed that performance with 40 points in 2024-25 and 32 points in 2025-26.

Before reaching the NHL, Moore spent three seasons at the University of Denver, totaling 120 points in 121 games. He then played with the AHL's Toronto Marlies, helping the organization capture the Calder Cup in 2018.

Moore spent two seasons in Kearney from 2011-13, recording 95 points (32 goals, 63 assists) in 111 games. He led the Storm in scoring during the 2012-13 season with 63 points, establishing himself as one of the organization's most productive forwards before beginning his professional career.

Cole O'Hara, Milwaukee Admirals (Storm years: 2020-2022)

Cole O'Hara is off to a strong start with the Milwaukee Admirals, the AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators. At the time of publication, O'Hara had recorded three goals and three assists for six points in seven games to begin the 2026-27 campaign. His early production includes a pair of goals in consecutive games against the Chicago Wolves on October 24 and 25.

O'Hara enjoyed an impressive first full professional season in 2025-26, finishing with 44 points (19 goals, 25 assists) in 67 regular season AHL games. He also reached the NHL with Nashville late in the campaign, recording an assist in his NHL debut on April 16 against Anaheim.

Nashville selected O'Hara in the fourth round (114th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft. Before turning professional, he spent three seasons at the University of Massachusetts, where he totaled 86 points in 109 games. His collegiate career included a standout 2024-25 season, when he recorded 51 points in 40 games and earned All-Hockey East First Team honors.

O'Hara spent two seasons with Tri-City from 2020-22, totaling 101 points (39 goals, 65 assists) in 107 regular season games. He recorded 73 points during the 2021-22 season, demonstrating the offensive ability that would help him advance to college hockey and eventually the professional ranks.

Connor McMenamin, Reading Royals (Storm years: 2017-2019)

Connor McMenamin has returned to the ECHL's Reading Royals for the 2026-27 season. He has appeared in four games, logging two penalty minutes.

McMenamin is continuing his professional career with Reading, where he has spent his entire four-year ECHL tenure. He recorded 29 points (14 goals, 15 assists) in 63 games during the 2025-26 regular season after posting 17 points in 29 games the previous year. Across his first three professional seasons, he accumulated 46 points (21 goals, 25 assists) in 102 regular-season appearances.

Before turning professional, McMenamin spent five seasons in NCAA hockey, playing four years at Penn State before finishing his collegiate career at Minnesota Duluth in 2023-24. He totaled 87 points in 164 college games, with his best offensive season coming in 2022-23, when he recorded nine goals and 24 points for Penn State.

McMenamin began his USHL career with Sioux City before joining Tri-City in 2017. He spent two seasons with the Storm, serving as an alternate captain in 2017-18 before becoming captain the following season. Across 108 games in Kearney, he recorded 74 points (34 goals, 40 assists) and developed into one of the team's leading offensive players. McMenamin contributed 44 points as captain in 2018-19.

Carson Pilgrim, St. Cloud State University (Storm years: 2023-2026)

Carson Pilgrim is beginning his NCAA Division I career with St. Cloud State University in 2026-27 after four seasons with time in the USHL. Pilgrim has contributed one assist in five St. Cloud State games this year.

Pilgrim arrived in St. Cloud following a productive final season with Tri-City in 2025-26. He recorded 41 points (18 goals, 23 assists) in 52 regular-season games, finishing among the Storm's top offensive contributors. He also represented the United States at the 2025 World Junior A Challenge, helping Team USA capture a gold medal.
